The Super Secret Project (SSP), creators of the YouTube hit “Granite State of Mind” and Roots of Creation, the Reggae/Rock band voted “Best Band in NH” (New England Music Awards), released“Summer in the 603” over the 4th of July holiday weekend. “Summer in the 603”, which already has over 6,000 views in 48 hours online, is the NH-themed Rap/Reggae parody combining samples of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” and the Granite State anthem, with original lyrics and music. The song highlights myriad activities and locations best enjoyed during the summer season in The Granite State, including Water Country, Pawtuckaway State Park, and Hampton Beach. The Voice’s Josh Logan, popular comedians Jimmy Dunn and Bob Marley, Dancing with the Stars and former Granite State Challenge host Tom Bergeron, and America’s Got Talent third-place winners (and Las Vegas headliners) Recycled Percussion are featured in this most recent ode to New Hampshire.
The vocals to “Summer In The 603″ were recorded at NH’s premier recording studio, Studio Metronome (Metronome Media Group), in Brookline NH, and mixed there by Pete “Boardz” Peloquin. Mr. Peloquin has worked with Allman Brothers, Guru, and Peter Frampton to name a few.
The SSP is the NH-based comedy group comprised of Christian Wisecarver, Billy Donohoe, and Darby DeChristopher. They have been writing and producing videos for years, amassing millions of views online, and were featured on national television. The SSP has performed all over New England, including multiple appearances at the Verizon Wireless Arena and the Portsmouth Music Hall. Roots of Creation is a self-proclaimed “Reggae/Rock/Dubtronica Hybrid.” The Keene-based band includes singer/guitarist Brett Wilson, keyboardist Tal Pearson, drummer Mike Chadinha, Nick Minicucci on bass, and saxophonist Andrew Riordan. The international touring group headlined the Granite State Music Festival this past June and plays high energy Reggae/Rock shows in every corner of New Hampshire. In 2014 alone, Roots of Creation has shared the stage with Slightly Stoopid, Rusted Root, The Wailers, and most recently, Ziggy Marley at the Lowell Summer Music Series. This summer, Roots of Creation will be a part of the national “Soulshine” tour, featuring Michael Franti and Spearhead, SOJA, Brett Dennen, and Trevor Hall at Meadowbrook, in Gilford, NH on July 19, 2014.
